Well, now that i have had it for 3 days…i thought i would post my review about it.
For one, it works as expected, and you have no other choice anyways. Installation was easy and smooth, it works great, i can now turn up the volume on Pink Floyd, and hey, no distortion! Beats my iTrip anyday – i drove all the way to work with no radio inteference…wow!
Peripheral took the iPod, known for its user interface, and decided to disable it…and gives you to its rather clumsy user interface with 4 high level categories of “browse” modes – Playlists, Artist, Album and Genre. It took a full 20 minutes of learning to figure out how to control it…AND had to RTFM…
My advise is to create playlists and pre-pend numerals for it to appear sorted…example “1 Podcasts”, “2 Favs”, “3 Rock” etc…that way, you dont spend too much time looking for your songs/podcasts…

Do not buy this product. Here are my woes:
I purchased a PXDP2 several months ago, and it has never worked correctly. Per the installation guide available online, it is properly installed in my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. I’m using a 5th Gen iPod with the latest firmware. Here are the issues I’ve had:
1) After starting the car, iPod playback is not resumed. A friend of mine has the PXDP and her iPod un-pauses, and starts playing immediately after the car turns on. Mine doesn’t. The only way to get it to play is to unplug the iPod, press “play” on the iPod and then plug it back in. This is a hassle and very annoying.
2) When changing between audio sources, say from the SAT button (which controls the PXDP2) to FM radio, the iPod is paused correctly. However, when I switch back to SAT, the iPod often doesn’t resume playing, and when it does, the sound is garbled and sounds very bad. The music also skips and makes very weird noises. The only way to fix this is to advance to the next track.
3) Using my steering wheel controls to change the track is VERY slow. There is a five second delay from when I press the button to when the track actually changes. This doesn’t happen with the PXDP is my friend’s car.
4) Sometimes, the steering wheel and head unit track advance buttons stop working. The unit will be playing music, and the iPod will be connected correctly, but the buttons simply don’t do anything. When I navigate to the SAT screen, the PXDP2 often says “iPod Not Connected” even though it obviously is. Other times, it will list a track that is not playing. Unplugging and reconnecting the iPod corrects the problem. VERY annoying.
5) Peripheral advertises that the PXDP2 displays track info on the radio screen (or the nav screen in my case). In my ‘07 Camry, only the first 10 letters (or so) of the title are shown on the screen. The rest is cut off. My car is fully capable of displaying longer titles than that. This is very annoying, and also makes the device difficult to use.
6) When the iPod is not plugged into the PXDP2, but SAT is selected on the head unit, loud popping and crackling noises are emitted from the speakers. When I plug the iPod in, another loud pop is heard. This is extremely annoying and I’m worried it will damage my sound system.
This device is poorly designed, cheaply made, and way over-priced. If you want an iPod kit, go with another manufacturer, or get the PXDP. It doesn’t have all the additional fancy features, but honestly, those features simply don’t work anyway.
